There are times when he's so far out in right field he's almost in the bleachers, but not this time. I couldn't agree more. Sen. Lindsey Graham is escalating his pressure campaign over the Iran conflict, urging President Trump to consider removing U.S. military bases from allied countries that refuse to let America launch operations from their territory. The South Carolina Republican made the case Friday after Trump told reporters Graham was “right about asking that.”
In a post on X, Graham wrote, “Mr. President, one of the things I like about you most is that, now, our allies take America for granted at their own peril.” He then sharpened the message even further, saying, “As to my suggestion, I meant it then and I’ll repeat it now: We should consider removing U.S. bases from countries who won’t let us fly from them as we confront the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism who has been hellbent on developing a nuclear weapon and was extremely close to achieving that goal.”

Military bases should be where it makes more sense to place for long term military objectives them regardless of short term politics.
ReplyDeleteAlso it would be easier if we worked with allies and not against them. We have spent the last year insulting, attacking and threatening the countries that host our bases. We didn't include them in the decision to attack Iran and now we are all surprised that they don't like what we are doing?
Graham has had an erection that started in January and hasn't come down yet. I hope he loses his election in November.
I meant it when I voted for no more foreign wars.

Not only remove ourselves from their countries, but destroy all standing structures and airfields so they cannot be used ever again. Withdraw from NATO and the UN.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree! The same should have been done with that gigantic base in Afghanistan - should have been left as a big HOLE with a bunch of scrap metal in it! Maybe this will be the END of the USA being the WORLD'S BABY DADDY! We've paid ENOUGH in treasures and LIVES!
DeleteGraham: Blind hog, acorn. Some assembly required.
ReplyDeleteDamn right I agree,in fact, lets start by removing all US military from the mid-east and asia!
ReplyDeleteHe's still a politician and can't get to the point.
ReplyDeleteWe shouldn't "consider" removing those bases. We should REMOVE those bases.
any place the US has a base, it dumps millions into the locals EVERY month. now that was back during the "cold war" times. it has to a lot more these days. look up rental properties near ANY military base and you will find them a lot higher than anyplace over 20 miles away. funny thing, back in the 1980's , EVERY time we got a pay raise. the rent went up !
ReplyDeletethe "locals" sucked us dry on everything they could. so, as a old guy who lived thru that shit. fuck them! close down bases that we really don't need anymore. and if I remember right, the ones around bases here in the states where the worse at money grabbing from GIs, red ,white and broke was a real thing in the 1980's.
I agree with him and I also agree that he should not be re-elected to the Senate. He's a warmonger who is willing to have all kinds of soldiers die to please his whims. Further, we need to make all other countries responsible for their own defense and stop spending our hard earned money to subsidize their socialism.
ReplyDeleteExactly what is the point of a base if they won't let us use it for what it was for?
