You really can't blame them, either. Those high prices fueled 40% of the New Yorkers lining up to leave for greener pastures, while 21% cited quality of life; 15% said taxes; and 10% said politics, according to a Marist Poll conducted this month. Another 7% are fed up with the weather. Add in the fact that their new Mayor is an avowed Socialist who'll stop at nothing trying to destroy the fabric of the City, and you understand their frustrations.
NYC residents were outraged after the recent winter storms as piles of dog shit littered the sidewalks like landmines and massive mountains of uncollected garbage piled up on the city streets. More than half of New Yorkers (51%) justifingly bitched that the quality of life is getting worse, according to the survey. The shocking new survey comes as New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has proposed a controversial 9.5% property tax increase - which has been slammed by black homeowners in the city. And experts have warned the measure could lead to rent increases for already struggling tenants.
Mamdani framed the proposal as a “last resort” for raising revenue for his mammoth $127 billion budget if Albany and Gov. Kathy Hochul refused to approve the income tax hike he wants on New Yorkers making $1 million or more.

instead of leaving people should be fixing the government they voted for. People used to fight for their rights.
ReplyDeleteThat's the plan: make everybody leave and then replace them with mislums and their breeding farms.
ReplyDeleteused to work with a guy from NY.. he told me, every time he moved south. he made more "take home money" and lived better. he would go back to see his folks for a weekend at most. as he told me it just costs way too much to be there.
ReplyDeletehe said he would never go back to live there again. just stupid how they tax everything there.
kind of funny in a way, I had 2 uncles that loved living in CA or the left coast. but by the mid 1980's both had sold out and left. again, taxes where the reason. well, that and "tree huggers" as one uncle called them.
He’ll always be known as Moron Zamdani to me.
ReplyDeleteFish or cut bait, New Yawkers. What is your political and financial liberty worth to you?
ReplyDeleteHard for home owners to escape when everyone is selling and no one is buying.
ReplyDeleteAnd how many of that third who want to move, voted for the commie? Or for that matter have bothered to vote in the last several elections? People who do not vote and complain about the results are just plain stupid.
ReplyDeleteEven if they stopped allowing the Poor and/or Stupid vote, things would not get better. As their beloved Joseph Stalin proclaimed, It's not important who votes. It's who counts the votes that is important.
