Remember that Peanut Butter and tuna fish sandwich you craved?

It's long been suggested that the foods we crave are the foods we need; that cravings are our body's way of subconsciously addressing a nutritional deficiency or need. Under this theory, that chocolate you had a hankering for on Thursday afternoon could be a sign of magnesium deficiency. And the steak you had to have for dinner last night suggests you're low in iron.
But since most of the foods we lust after aren't particularly nutritious, how much can we trust our - pardon the pun - gut instincts? Food cravings are common, though not terribly well understood, in part because they're so subjective. Research suggests they're experienced more commonly by women than men, and that in the West, chocolate is the most widely craved food.

  1. Good point, but I lost a small bit of cornbread to the floor during supper and my Maltipoo Phinneas ate it ASAP.

To be expected. He's a Southern Dog. Woof, y'all. I doubt he had any stress like yesterday, where we had to repair nine 16" tiles that arced up 1" when we were out of town. As a sorta geologist (yeah, I'm a non-licensed environmental consultant), maybe a 0.1 Richter? Laughter.

Guess what??? The SC Lowcountry has had over "known" 100 mini-quakes in the last 3 months. Guess were had on 0.001 or so. The foundation has zero damage but 5 hung pictures were slanted near that area. Two candles were overturned as well.

BTW, we're on a remote Sea Island and get "The Hum" monthly. Selling and moving into town.
