New York City's commie Mayor Zohran Mamdani presented his first preliminary city budget on Tuesday, outlining a spending plan totaling approximately $122 billion for Fiscal Year 2026 and $127 billion for Fiscal Year 2027, according to official City Hall transcripts.
According to local reporting from FOX 5 New York (WNYW), the proposal includes funding reductions to the New York City Department of Veterans’ Services (DVS) as part of broader efforts to close a projected multibillion-dollar budget gap. The segment reported that veterans advocacy groups expressed concern over the potential impact of those reductions.
The preliminary plan also includes a proposed 9.5 percent property tax increase if additional state-level revenue measures are not approved. FOX 5 reported that the administration is attempting to address a projected $7 billion shortfall across the next two fiscal years, even after a $1.5 billion state aid package announced by Governor Kathy Hochul.
Mamdani stated that the budget seeks to 'balance fiscal responsibility with maintaining core city services'. However, City Council hearings are expected to scrutinize the proposed reductions to veteran-related funding before a final budget is adopted.

back in the early 2000's it was found that a lot of the so called "doctors" where not really doctors.
funny that they always seem to hire dot heads doc's and the like. yeah. I worked there during that time too.
we all had to go thru background checks and they made sure we where qualified for our jobs.
