Besset is one of those Government guys who's an absolute pleasure to listen to. He never struggles for words, he's articulte and to the point. He knows of which he speaks, and speaks with the authority and confidence that's becoming a hallmark of the Trump Administration.
Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent told “Sunday Morning Futures” host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday that revenue from tariffs would not drop, despite the Supreme Court’s ruling against the authority President Donald Trump’ invoked to levy his “Liberation Day” tariffs.
The high court decided Trump exceeded his powers under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) in a 6-3 ruling issued Friday. Bartiromo questioned Bessent about claims made Friday by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget that the deficit would increase due to the loss of revenue.
Scott Bessent is the U.S. Treasury Secretary and the first openly gay Senate-confirmed Cabinet member in a Republican administration. Confirmed in January 2025, he is married with children and has supported various LGBTQ+ causes. He is a former hedge fund manager chosen by Donald Trump. Did you know that? Probably not.
If he was in the Biden Administration, they'da made a big deal out of his being gay. No one is making a deal of any kind out of that fact because he was hired for his talents and capability, not because of some DEI bullshit. He's very good at what he does, and that's why he is where he is. Nuff said...

He's competent, coherent and capable. Which is why he better have a good security team. The leftists WILL kill him given half a chance.
ReplyDeleteYou really like this tariff shit, wtf actually likes more taxes!? I swear to god if the demorats pulled this tariff shit you'd be screeching non-stop about how bad tariffs (additional taxes) are.
ReplyDeleteAre we somehow celebrating that they will keep charging us extra taxes on everything we buy?
ReplyDeleteLet me say this slowly so it is clear to everyone. Tariffs are a tax that is paid by Americans. We pay the tariffs. If the government celebrates that tariff revenue will not decrease that means that they are planning to keep charging you and I additional taxes.
We all already paid $1000 extra last year.
