Situated in County Donegal, at the mouth of the River Lennon where it flows into Lough Swilly. Founded between 1609-1622 by William Stewart, it was built on an O'Donnell castle site, was prosperous in the 19th/early 20th century (known as "The Holy City" for its many churches), and developed around the linen trade.
If you're gonna go, stop by Conway's Bar. It's a traditional, old tatch-roofed pub. It's right in town, and they're proud to say they're a 'dog friendly pub'...
