If it's too hot, too cold, too dry, too wet, whatever - just blame Trump. I get it...

This is almost too crazy to believe, but from this guy, ya almost have to -
as Nancy once famously said - suspend disbelief.
Murphy said, "If you look at states like Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, California that have stronger laws, we have gun violence rates, murder rates, mass shooting rates that are two to 3 to 4 times lower than states that have loose gun laws. And many of the weapons that are used in our states for gun crimes come to our states from those states that have an ability for criminals and people with serious mental illness to buy weapons."

"But this is not shocking because over the last year, President Trump has been engaged in a dizzying campaign to increase violence in this country. He is restoring gun rights to felons and people who have lost their ability to buy guns. He eliminated the White House office of gun violence protection, and he has stopped funding mental health grants and community anti-gun violence grants that Republicans and Democrats supported in that 2022 bill. So he has been engaged in a pretty deliberate campaign to try to make violence more likely in this country. I think you’re unfortunately going to see the results of that on the streets of America."
Wow. Just fuckin' wow...

I'm sure it's on somewhere at this time of year.

I guess that's not what went down at Meathead's house yesterday. I still can't get my head around that whole thing. Looks like his own kid did it? What a fucked up world it is sometimes, huh...

Progressive TV anchor Rachel Maddow has credited Pope Francis and Leo XIV for leading her back to the Catholic Church. That's the account in a Letters from Leo post describing a surprise moment Friday night at a Chicago event when Maddow had told an audience she had returned to the faith after decades away.
So, I have a serious question about this that I can't find a good answer for. Can you be a lesbian and still get in to heaven through the Catholic Church? I googled it and got just a buncha Googledeeguck.

Ya see? It doesn't really answer the question, does it?

Federal immigration officers have arrested more than 400 illegal aliens - including convicted pedophiles, rapists, and violent offenders - during Operation Metro Surge in Minnesota...
Officials say the crackdown was necessary after state and local sanctuary policies allowed dangerous criminals to roam free. Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin blasted Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey for “failing to protect the people of Minnesota.”

Yeah - that's just three years ago. They haven't put the roasts out again just yet - as the butcher at Winn Dixie said yesterday - 'It ain't Christmas week yet'. Anyway, I can't imagine them going for less than $ 15.00 a pound - last  year I think they were $ 12.00 - and that's if they're available at all. I usualy buy three or four of 'em, slice 'em in to ribeye steaks and freeze 'em. I also save the fat when I trim 'em and make tallow for myself. We'll see...

“Mr. President, would you do the honor?” a referee asked before handing Trump the coin that determined which team got to kick off, footage from the game shows. Trump opted to place the coin in his palm, then throwing it into the air, where it did not appear to spin at all. The coin landed on tails in favor of the Army Black Knights. However, the Navy Midshipmen later walked away victorious, securing a 17-16 win.

  1. If it’s stupid, makes no sense and offends reason, sooner or later Chris Murphy will stumble upon it and act like he invented it. The sap hasn’t got the brains god gave grapefruit. Here’s a poster for you Chris. How did Trump and the gun laws in, say Nebraska, cause the shooting on Bondi beach? I’ll wait.

  2. yeah, snow days where a great way to make a few bucks as a kid. funny thing, after I got older(30 plus) I started cleaning the sidewalks and steps of the older folks for free on my block. it was just the 'right' thing to do.
later on it paid off in ways I never thought of. one old lady gave me all of her husbands reloading and gun books.
I tried to pay her, but she wouldn't have any of it. her kids where kind of pissed at me. I found out later on.
I had cleaned her steps and whatnot before her kids even called her if she needed help with anything ?
used to clear out parking spaces for a case of beer from other folks.
but even that was close to 25 years ago now. times and people change and not always for the better.

  4. To me this bs that Trumps increasing violence is like a cop beating someone semiconscious laying on the ground and hollering” quit resisting” as he continues to beat them. A number of lefties I know really believe the right is amping up the violence.

  5. Murphy and the Dems always blame Trump for everything as they have nothing else. Seems like most people should have woke up to how bad the Dems are when they have nothing but "Trump is bad" so you must support us.

  6. What does Murphy have to say about his state, and his neighboring states (that's you, New York), releasing violent felons both legal and illegal, and the criminally insane to prey on the public? Trump, right? I thought CT was smarter than this, but I was wrong.

  7. MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD: 19 year old Ella Cook - VP of the Brown College Republicans.
Why would a bright, devout Christian, conservative girl pick a college like Brown where the staff
is 99% democrat and only 6% of the student body identifies as GOP?

  8. My Jewish friend, Jeff Feldman, committed suicide on STJ, as you know Joe. I went to the rabbi on STT immediately asking the same question about heaven for a suicide victim. His family arrived from CA and I was forgotten.
