Governor Ron DeSantis is taking a bold stand for Florida’s sovereignty, pushing forward with new legislation aimed at banning the enforcement of Sharia law in the state.
The proposed law, known as the "No Shari'a Act," reaffirms that the U.S. Constitution is the supreme legal authority in Florida, preventing any foreign or religious laws from creeping into the state’s judicial system. DeSantis’ firm stance sends a strong message: Florida will remain a beacon of constitutional rights, untouched by foreign religious influence.

Sharia Law is not only completely unconstitutional but it also goes against many, many, many state and federal laws. Sharia law not only refers to extreme penalties for moral/ethical "crimes" but among other things it prohibits charging interest, gambling, regulates diets (not eating pork), mandates how/when you must pray, etc. As you can see all those go against your 1st amendment, your 8th amendment and many state and federal laws.
ReplyDeleteFor DeSantis to pass a law against sharia law is about as useful as him passing a law making it illegal for humans to breath water. 100% useless, unnecessary and only done for political reasons. We will not be any safer if this law passes or in any more danger if it doesn't' pass.
Total waste of time. DeSantis should be spending his time on real issues that do impact Floridians. He could do something about escalating homeowner's insurance costs, real estate taxes, the number of uninsured drivers on the road, and on and on and on. He has been in office for 8 years and my insurance keeps going up!
Where in the US do we have Sharia law?
