According to a new poll as reported in today's paper, significant portion of young Americans believe there are cases when political violence is acceptable, according to a troubling survey released Monday. More than one-third of Americans under the age of 45 agreed with the view that political violence can be justified, in certain cases, the Politico/Public First poll found.
The portion of young people who think political violence sometimes has a place in society was about 10 percentage points higher than the overall population, of which, disturbingly, 24% believe it is justified in some instances.
Political violence is never - at least should never - be justified for any reason. The hatred and divisiveness that came out of Obama's Presidency is probably more to blame for this attitude than anything else.
Remember what his (hideous-looking) wife said: 'If they bring a knife, we bring a gun'. What great role models those two have proven to be. Juss' sayin'...

"More than 33% of young Americans believe political violence can be justified in certain cases."
ReplyDeleteMixed feelings here, because context matters. Frankly, a lot of the wars and military actions we've involved ourselves as a country could be considered political violence. And we justify it. But that isn't American-on-American violence.
On the other hand, in the current national political atmosphere, this has a totally different meaning. And these young Americans are going to have a very different tune once the political violence starts targeting them for their socialist anarchy nonsense. So far, restraint has kept them from being really targeted. That will end.
Gee, I wonder who the Nazis are now?
