Another offshore wind developer has abandoned an ocean power project for New Jersey. Attorneys for the Leading Light Wind Project told the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities that the project would not move forward as originally planned. This is the third major offshore energy project slated for New Jersey to be canceled.
Leading Light Wind was a 2 gigawatt project proposed by Invenergy, a renewable power and natural gas energy company based in Chicago.
Had it been constructed, the companies said Leading Light Wind would have used ocean gusts to attempt to power - according to them, anyway - about 1 million New Jersey homes.
Nuclear would have been safer, cleaner and 100 times more reliable, but you shitcanned that idea, didn't you, you fuckin' moron...
