This Bill Bramhall political cartoon was published this morning. It comments on the frequency and impact of U.S. government shutdowns, using the recurring "shutdown clock" to humorously critique the temporary relief felt after one shutdown ends, only for the next one to quickly approach.
The cartoon is titled "Enjoy your shutdown break". The first panel shows Uncle Sam relieved a 43-day shutdown is over. The second panel reveals the next shutdown is due in only 2 months.
It's a legit question. These people we think of as our 'representatives' are nothing like that at all. It seems at times that none of the people we see in the news every day never have anything good or positive to say about the people they're supposed to be looking out for. It's all about pandering and posturing. Of course they'll shut it down again. Of course they'll all blame 'the other guy'. It's a maddening way to run a country.
Be nice if we could grab all of their egos and shove them up their collective asses...

Representative government? They elected an ex-CIA spy who wants boys in girls bathrooms. They elected the states top lawman who wants to murder conservatives children in front of their mothers. They elected a communist in the biggest city in America. And more. Civil war is inevitable.
ReplyDeleteSo long as the Federal Reserve continues to exist to provide unlimited money for their nonstop deficit spending, they NEVER have to come together to hammer out a balanced budget by slashing government spending to the bone. END THE FED!
