Antarctica has experienced a surprising change, gaining over 100 billion tonnes of ice in just one year. This is an unexpected increase, especially since scientists have not seen such a rise in many years. The ice addition has taken many experts by surprise, leaving them to wonder what is causing this unusual event.
Scientists typically observe Antarctica losing ice due to climate change and rising temperatures. However, this sudden gain of ice raises questions about what might be happening in the region. Experts are now trying to figure out the reasons behind this increase and what it could mean for the future of the planet.
The situation in Antarctica is important because it affects global sea levels and our understanding of climate systems. This unexpected development could have significant implications for the environment and weather patterns. As researchers work to uncover the clues, the world is watching closely to learn more about what this ice gain might reveal about climate change and the health of our planet. I know this is very complicated for "experts" but to hazard a guess, I'd say in increase in ice is due to it getting colder. See it warms up for a while, then it cools off for awhile. Rinse and repeat.
ReplyDeleteOver recent years, how many cruise ships have been trapped in ice while carrying tourists to see how "Global Warming" was destroying the Antarctic Ice? Read Michal Creighton's "State of Fear".
ReplyDelete"Stunned experts are scrambling to explain what this means."
ReplyDeleteIt means all that "Global Warming" scare is bullshit.

ReplyDeleteYunzhong Shen, the study's corresponding author, told AFP May 19 that the increase observed between 2021 and 2023 occurred on a "too short timescale" to be treated as a trend reversal -- or to deny the impacts of climate change in the region (archived here).
Yet after one storm/heat wave/anomaly they will start yelling DOOM! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE! (Unless you send us all your money, give up modern technology, and reduce YOUR standard of living to subsistence farming,)
Deleteoh my. heats up climate change! send money!! cools down? climate change!! send money!!! see how that works.
ReplyDeleteSea ice doesn't change the sea level.
ReplyDeleteIce floats, and the amount of water weight in the ice is equal to the water displaced.
Fill a glass half full of water. Add 3 ice cubes. Mark the level of the water.
Wait for the ice to melt. Is the level higher?
Oy vey! Are they back to "global cooling and ice ages".... AGAIN? I'm so old I remember the cover from TIME magazine in 1970 like it was yesterday. Yeah, academics need something to worry to death over, otherwise funding dries up. Faster please.
ReplyDeleteClimate experts now claim that increase in Antarctic ice brought about by combination of transphobia and systemic racism.
