What myth can we blow apart today?

Lobsters do not possess vocal cords and therefore cannot screamThe high-pitched sound sometimes heard when boiling lobsters is actually steam escaping through small pores or crevices in their shells as their internal organs boil.
While lobsters do not scream, studies suggest (again with these friggin' studies - who's doing them and why) they can experience pain when boiled alive, as their nervous systems remain active.
Due to 'ethical concerns', some countries like Switzerland and Italy have banned boiling lobsters alive, requiring 'humane stunning methods' (like sticking a knife in it's head, right Guido?) before cooking.

  1. My favorite lobster recipe?
Heat a cast iron skillet to smoking, crack a dozen eggs in a bowl. Put the lobster in the skillet, pour in the eggs, cover tightly, and let the lobster scramble the eggs.

  2. I like seafood. I live 45 miles from the coast. I do not understand the fascination with lobster. I would rather eat the claw meat over the tail meat. Alaskan King Crab is my favorite but I can rarely afford it. Fresh shrimp off the boat on the Georgia/Florida coast, de-headed, 25-34 per pound is less than ground beef if you buy 5 pounds. A couple of Reds, a King cut into steaks, or a seared flounder are all more appealing to me than lobster. I had blackening spices on my 3/8" griddle plate on the pellet grill where I laid flounder filets earlier today. A little bit dry but it was very good.
