June 2024: During an interview with CNN for the 80th anniversary of D-Day, Hanks was asked if he was worried about the future of American democracy. He replied that while a second Trump presidency would suggest the U.S.'s "journey to a more perfect union has missteps in it," he still believes the nation moves forward over time.
2016 campaign: During the 2016 election, Hanks called Trump a "self-involved gasbag" in an on-stage interview. He also publicly condemned Trump's lewd comments captured on the Access Hollywood tape, saying he was "offended as a man".
Post-2016 election: In November 2016, following Trump's election, Hanks said, "America has been in worse places than we are at right now," and expressed faith that the country and its Constitution would endure.
Post-inauguration: At a 2017 American Civil Liberties Union fundraiser, Hanks called the Trump administration's attempted travel ban on several Muslim-majority countries a "brand of tragedy".
2023 Harvard commencement: In his commencement speech, Hanks warned against attempts by those in public service to "twist the truth" and spread division, with an inference to President Trump.

  1. Hanks is a political whore. He came to Auto Pens defense and pretended that Biden was the greatest thing since Washington crossed the Delaware. Yeah, sure, Hanks pretends he's a soldier and does good things for veterans, but that doesn't take away from the fact thst he is a whore that will cheerfully prostitute his credibility for someone with a D after their name.
