Who can we believe in anymore?

I don't know if she's the right person to be doing it, but Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, has called for Barack Obama and former senior US national security officials to be prosecuted after accusing them of a “treasonous conspiracy” intended to show that Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential election win was due to Russian interference.
She said Obama and senior officials in his administration had “laid the groundwork for a years-long coup” against Trump after his victory over Hillary Clinton by “manufacturing intelligence” to suggest that Russia had tried to influence the election. That included using a dossier prepared by a British intelligence analyst, Christopher Steele, that they knew to be unreliable, Gabbard claimed.
Will they try to bring a former President to justice? There certainly is precedent for it - just look at wha they've done to Trump over the years. The difference is that these are the good guys - unlike the scumbag Dims who badgered him for ten years.

It's impossible to get my head around the idea that that was 56 years ago.

The largest cruise ship in the world that’s anticipated to become the crown jewel of Royal Caribbean’s sprawling fleet will be docking in Florida before it departs on its first-ever voyage in late August. The “Star of the Seas” ship, complete with 20 decks and a mind-boggling capacity for 5,000 passengers, set sail from its construction port in Finland on Thursday and is set to arrive at Florida’s Port Canaveral on Aug. 15, according to its website.
There is no amount of money - no possible incentive of any kind - that would ever make me want to ever step on board that thing. 5,000 passengers - probably 1,500 or more of them kids - on the same ship at the same time. If that isn't a recipe for disaster, nothing is. Hard pass on that one...

Seems it'd be counter-intuitive, but it isn't...

They say you should have a million bucks in the bank
in order to retire comfortably...

Well, there's another pooch I screwed 'cause, as the song goes, 'If I had a million dollars, I'd be rich', and I probably wouldn't be driving a 20+ year old F-150 - which is running just fine, thank you very much.

Do you like a strong cup of tea?
I found this in Belfast a long time ago.
It's the best tea I've ever tasted.
It's not cheap, but trust me - it's worth it.

  1. Pretty sure ALL aircraft are secured to carrier decks, unless they are in the process of launch or recovery.

  2. Re: the million dollars to retire on.

A question to Dave Ramsey: "We'll have about $9,700/month retirement income and own our home and have no debt, but the problem is we only have $3million in savings. Is it safe for us to retire??". I always hope he tells these fuckers to save more, "to be safe", in the hopes that they'll keep working right up until the day they drop over dead.

    1. Was looking good because of my hard work maintaining two other houses plus our own. Sold the two rentals then wife decided to "lend" her daughter (my stepdaughter) half a million to get a bigger house. Now I can't afford to live or to divorce. She's nervous, I suspect she can tell I'm pissed that I have to work another 10+ years beyond the 70 at which I was going to call it quits. Never think you are equal to her own kids.

  6. I'm not sure what lifestyle they're living that a million dolars only lasts 24 years. Even with a 2.5% interest bearing CD, that's $25,000 a year to live on, and you've still got a million. So . . ? Maybe living beyond their means is factored into the equation.

  7. My net worth is over $6MM. I'm driving a 2002 Honda Accord. (The latter is one reason for the former).
