Nice car. Is it 'hot'?

This 'infographic' (there's a great new word, isn't it?)  from visualcapitalist.com outlines "The Most Stolen Car in Every State in 2024" and illustrates the prevalence of different car models as the most stolen vehicle across the United States, alongside the number of thefts in various states.
The Hyundai Elantra is the most stolen car in 21 states, followed by the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (9 states) and the Ford F-150 Series (6 states).

Other Frequently Stolen Models in multiple states include the Honda Accord, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Honda Civic. The map highlights states with high numbers of thefts, such as Texas (6,453), California (6,248), and Florida (1,074).

72 years old and I just baked my first
loaf of bread from scratch the other day.
Did not suck, I must say.
This book is terrific...

  2. I just fed my sourdough starter. I will give it about 2 hours before I pour a cup off to make a loaf of bread and feed it again. A loaf only lasts 4 to 5 days before it goes bad. It takes about 8 hours for a finished loaf once I mix all of the ingredients together.

    1. I didn't make bread, I made hamburger buns with sesame seeded tops. I have 9 of them. The wife told me we were going to have hamburgers tomorrow and we needed buns. They were fairly flat and baked out to about an inch and a quarter thick and 4 to 5 inches across. I will need to make big burgers. The one I cut open had lots of small voids. They will be good hamburger buns but a bit chewy. I will make bread tomorrow or the next day.

  3. Tried the no knead/Dutch oven bread idea. Excellent. Grandsons wanted to try it right out of the oven. The loaf was gone before dinner was served.

Tidy up or pay the fiddler...

This house is about four blocks from my house, and, yes, it is a shithole. A Villager has been given one week to remove debris from his prop...
