Explaining birth-right citizenship is easy, especially because today's the fourth...

It shouldn't be as easy as it is just 'cause you just so happened
to be here in the US when you popped a kid...

Ya really couldn't ask for a much better metaphor to explain why this birth-right stuff is wrong. Say a pregnant woman from Italy or Morocco or wherever flies in to visit friends in New York City and while she's here she goes in to labor and has the baby in a hospital in lower Manhattan.
Is that kid automatically a US citizen - not Italian or Moroccan? See - the fact is, birth-right citizen should be reserved to babies born of American citizen parents - even  if the parents are nationalized. Get that? Good...

That's a perfect example of why some statistics are meaningless...

In early June, ICE agents carried out a series of immigration sweeps across Southern California, sparking protests in Los Angeles that spread nationwide as the raids impacted other parts of the country. The threat of continued ICE raids persists, prompting some officials and organizers to express concern over 'the welfare of revelers congregating in large celebratory gatherings'. Ya gotta love anyone who can crtaft a phrase like that.
The County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation said it postponed the East Los Angeles Rockin' 4th of July celebration - as well as the Summer Movies and Concert in the Parks series that takes place at Schabarum Park - due to potential ICE raids.

Amazon has a few select items they putting on sale prior to their big 'Prime Days' promotion that starts next week. This is one of the items that ya almost gotta wonder if they make a profit on it at the price they're selling it at.
It's an INSIGNIA 50-inch Class F50 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV with Alexa Voice Remote that they have listed at a -43% markdown. You can actually now buy this tv for only $169.99. That's a ridiculously good price. Click on the picture for more info.

  1. UPS is cutting back because Amazon is taking it's business elsewhere...

    1. Non-Amazon shipping by UPS is outrageous. I had Christmas presents drop shipped to a different state. A SNAFU had them delivered to my house. Shipping them UPS to the other state was more than the items plus shipping from Amazon. Ended up returning them to Amazon and rebuying them shipped correctly this time.

    2. I'm so pissed at Amazon right now. I ordered a portable cooler almost a month ago and still haven't received even though they are still advertising them as in stock. Summer will be over by the time I straighten this out.

  2. On the cow-jumping meme:
I am ill-informed and probably wrong, but isn't the source of loaned assets and interest a practice stemming from impregnated stock created by a borrowed animal, the owner having an interest in the matter and paid by one of the offspring? A Jewish practice iirc.
