It was Teddy Roosevelt who said "Speak softly and carry
a big stick'. DJT certainly has the stick...
a big stick'. DJT certainly has the stick...
Theodore Roosevelt famously used this phrase to describe his foreign policy, particularly in relation to Latin America and the Caribbean. He believed that by demonstrating a strong military presence and a willingness to use it when needed, the United States could achieve its goals without resorting to constant threats or aggression.
DJT'd predescessors talked the talk but didn't do dick to stop the Moolahs. That's what most of us like about this guy - he does what he says he's gonna do...

Among the items he proposes? Free bus fare for everyone. Freezing all residential rents in the five buroughs. Government-run grocery stores. Free health care for all children. Raise taxes on wealthy residents - effectively tripling what is in effect now. Free childcare for children aged six weeks to five years. Raising the corporate tax rate to 11.5%. Minimum wage increase to $ 30.00 an hour for all workers. Make New York City an LGBTQ+ sanctuary city (whatever the fuck that means).
And the best one of all? Replace the NYPD with social workers.
It's important to note that some of Mamdani's more ambitious proposals, particularly those related to tax increases, would require approval from the state government and Governor Kathy Hochul, who has 'expressed reservations', but then again, she is a leftie, also, so...

“Tonight is proof that the modern Democratic Party has lost its mind. To all the residents and business owners of New York City who don’t want a socialist, defund the police, antisemitic mayor representing them, I encourage you to move to New Jersey."

The Northern Lights may be visible in the U.S. on Wednesday night, according to a forecast by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Space Weather Prediction Center.
Although astronomical darkness is in short supply at northerly latitudes, sky-watchers in 14 U.S. states may have a chance to see the aurora borealis on the northern horizon as soon as it gets dark.
The agency’s three-day forecast indicates a minor geomagnetic storm, measured at a value of up to G2 on a scale of G1 to G5. According to NOAA’s forecast, the Kp index — which provides a rough guide to the intensity of aurora displays — may reach 5.

The year we moved to the Catskills, inbetween Liberty and Middletown, we had three days running of 100+ degrees. That was 4th of July weekend. Don't let these bastards keep lying about weather and tempatures!
ReplyDeleteThe explanation for astronomical art prices is quite simple: it's a tax scam for the very wealthy. At an opportune time, it will get donated to a museum and the appraised value is deductible just the same as if you wrote a check for that amount to a charity. A true fact.
ReplyDeleteThat is the neatest golf cart ever and if it has a 5 speed tranny with a 4 gear brownie I want it. But in red.
ReplyDeleteIt should be agains't the law for muslims to hold any off ice in America. That's just common sense.
ReplyDeleteI won't argue with you but there is a thing called "Freedom of Religion" that allows ANY religion or non-religious belief to be practiced in this once great nation. Godless moose limbs are included in that rule.
DeleteIslam is a political ideology masquerading as religion.
DeleteAgree the CDC should be shut down. How about it RFK Jr?
ReplyDeleteThe "Art" world is largely just one tax fraud after another. Buy a painting on the cheap then get your friend the Art Appraiser to say it is worth millions. Then donate it to a museum and get a huge tax deduction at minimal expense.
ReplyDeleteEVERYONE who works for the CDC as has for the past 40 years should be immediately arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit mass murder (at the minimum).
