"The more things change, the more they stay the same" is a saying that highlights the 'paradoxical nature of change'. It suggests that even when things appear to change dramatically, the underlying reality or fundamental aspects may remain the same. The Dimocrats have been throwing the 'crazy-ideas-book' at the American wall for the better part of the last 15 or more years, and nothing seems to stick.
All the 'woke' bullshit of the past 6 or 7 years is being underminded and rebuked, but they're sticking to their guns on crazy shit like boys in girls bathrooms and locker rooms. The new Dimocrat Mayor of Tulsa - he's the first black mayor there - wants to give other Tulsa blacks 120 million dollars to make 'reperations' for something that happened 124 years ago. Ya can't make this shit up.
