(CNN) - One of the most powerful alliances in American politics appears to be over – for now. President Donald Trump confirmed the deterioration of his relationship with Elon Musk Thursday, saying he was “very disappointed” in the tech billionaire after Musk repeatedly blasted the president’s sweeping domestic agenda bill in recent days.
“Elon and I had a great relationship. I don’t know if we will anymore,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, less than one week after the two exchanged effusive praise on Musk’s last day as a special government employee.
Shortly after, Musk responded on his social media platform X that Trump could not have won the 2024 election without him — a jab that appeared to further irritate the president.
“Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate,” Musk said. He added: “Such ingratitude.” Trump fired back on his own social media site, Truth Social, that the “easiest way to save money” would be to “terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts.” Back on X, Musk said: “Go ahead, make my day.”

Muskrat should probably be in rehab. The dope is making his mouth overload his ass.
ReplyDeleteMusk went into this focused on the huge debt that the US is carrying. If the debt is not addressed, the economy will collapse. DoGE was a great first start to cut fat without cutting meat or bone. The "Big Beautiful Bill" is going to add to the debt over time. That is why Musk feels betrayed and is lashing out.
DeleteAt some point, when you're too far in debt, you have to give up your credit cards.
It may be all theater and fakery in order to get people to stop damaging Teslas and other Musk companies.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! Probably just trolling people.... heheheh
DeleteI'll believe Musk over Trump and Musk is not our (the peoples) allay. Trump is captured.
ReplyDeleteWhether Elon's doing drugs, I don't know, but a lot of this is ego on his part and the fact, like Vivek, he really doesn't get how politics works.
ReplyDeleteBoth of their egos are the size of Texas. And Musk is not wrong about the bill - where's the cuts and savings?
