He certainly has an up-hill battle in front of him, but after eight years of Gov. Murphy screwing the pooch, he may have a shot. The biggest problem any Republican faces in that State is the big cities - all of which are Dimocrat strongholds (or should I say 'strangleholds'). Newark, Jersey City, Paterson. Passaic, Hoboken, Camden, Trenton, Atlantic City, Asbury Park - all vote strictly left for good reasons. They couldn't survive on their own governence, and rely heavily on State handouts and bailouts. Be interesting to watch...
