I'm a fan of Trump. Not a great big, screaming it 'til I'm horse MAGA-hat wearing fan, but I do like what the guy ran on, and I'm certainly impressed by the expedient manner he's displayed in getting shit done through his first four months in office, but...
Ya gotta explain to me how a guy who ran for office making lowering the national debt his number two or three priority is backing a 'big, beautiful budget bill' that will increase the debt ceiling and add $ 5,000,000,000,000.00 in debt to the country. That number, in case ya doubt recognize it, is five scagillion dollars. Listen - I'm in my friggin' 70's, and I don't have any grandkids to be concerned about, but you should be if you have 'em, 'cause the dollar ain't gonna worth dick when they get old enough to understand how incredibly fuckin' stupid my generation has been with their money. Juss' sayin'...

The spiral galaxy NGC 2082 stuns from 60 million light-years away. Captured here by Hubble's Advanced Camera for Surveys, NGC 2082 can be seen in exquisite detail – filaments of dark dust splay across the galaxy's arms and central hub of stars. Plus, Hubble's vision resolves individual stars in the galaxy and even tiny, distant galaxies in the background. I am so awed by what scientists and great thinkers have been able to accomplish during my lifetime.

It's fucked up. isn't it? Ya see a video of a concert - or any event anymore - and there's two out of every three jerkoffs holding their camera/phones over their heads recording shit instead of enjoying it in real time. Imagine how pissed off they must be when they get home and try to watch whatever they didn't watch in the first place and all they see in their video is a sea of other idiots doing the same thing they did. Juss' sayin'...

CBS News CEO Wendy McMahon announced Monday that she is resigning, the latest blow to the embattled network as it grapples with internal unrest, accusations of anti-Israel bias in its coverage, and a $20 billion lawsuit from President Donald Trump. "It's become clear that the company and I do not agree on the path forward," McMahon wrote in a memo to staffers. "It's time for me to move on and for this organization to move forward with new leadership."
Evidently, she wanted to maintain CBS' bias against Israel and demonstarted disrespect and hatred of all things Trump. Don't let the screen door hitcha on the way out, babe...

Our old friend Nicci Pisarri had a lot of different looks, all of them devine. I hope wherever she is and whatever she's doing, she's okay. I had read that she went through some tough times, including surviving thyroid cancer...

Full credit to the scientists who are reviewing Hubble’s data but it was engineers who put it together and into orbit. And yes they even developed the fix for their optical error.
ReplyDeleteI can begin to explain the "Big Beautiful Etc" with the message of a song I created:

Trump proposes, Congress disposes. What they passed isn't even close to what he wanted to see.
This^^^^
DeleteCongress is the number one enemy of the people. No contest.
DeleteThe idea is that one bill is harder for the Demos (and Undocumented Democrats) to pick apart.
ReplyDeleteSomehow it seems a little off that we might be so awestruck by what humans have done to let us see what is out there in the universe, while we completely overlook the Creator who made the universe in the first place, which is a heck of a lot bigger job than anything we can ever do. Maybe we can stop worshipping the creation (mankind) and start worshipping the Creator (God). He is worthy of our awe and thanks. We are not.
ReplyDeleteThe budget process is sad. No, not the budget itself but the people, especially the RINOs, who are causing all of this angst. I'd include the democrats, but they only have one agenda for the next four years - say NO to Trump or anything that might help him succeed.
ReplyDeleteFirst, none of the blue state republicrats will vote for it if their precious SALT money isn't in there. The fact that their own states are taxing their constituents to death isn't the issue for them; it's how much they can leech from the federal government to counter the impact. Then there are the republicrats who are so wrapped up in their nonstop campaigns, who reel at the thought that their vote for something "right" might conflict with their guarantee of getting reelected. One example is one of my own senators (and a large portion of the Midwest senators and congressmen) who will block the bill if any ethanol subsidies are removed.
When the compromises demanded within the republican sides of Congress mirror what used to pass as compromises between the two parties, we don't stand a chance. And Trump is a businessman. He's probably outraged that he has to accept these compromises from within his own party just to get to a bill...but he dares not say it.
Term limits dammit! The only way any of these jackalopes will ever vote FOR America again is to give them a shelf life in Washington.
Just blame Biden for the extra debt, it always works.
ReplyDeleteThe other day Trump signed a bill to decriminalize rules and regulations that have made us all felons while letting politicians exempt themselves. Not on the news.

You're old enough to remember Judy Carne on Laugh in. She ended up poor and homeless in London. Fame is no guarantee of the future.
ReplyDeleteDon't F with Medicaid. Let me translate that for you. Cut taxes without cutting services/entitlements = Increase deficits by a gazillion $.
ReplyDeleteRemind me again who owns our debt? O right China owns our debt. This bill is here to make sure that China owns our asses for ever. You and I will see no benefit from these tax cuts. It will all go to the top 1%. What you and I will get is more beholden to the Chinese Communist party!
Trump is very popular in China, they like him because his actions are strengthening China. China plays the long game planning decades in advance, they don't have a change of administration every 4yrs to worry about. Our current foreign policy is also pushing countries to align with China.
DeleteActually the bill doesn't matter. It's the McGuffin. What matters is the RINO led congress can't muster the incentive let alone votes to do the right thing for the nation. Under dem control it they had plenty of rino support for all their shady legislation. President Trump trolls all the time. This is another troll, designed to show that not only is the dem party willingly commiting suicide, but so are the repubs. He just sets them up, they take the bait, and professional suicide happens. We don't need any political partys, they only divide us and demand loyalty to the party, not the nation. Oh, and don't worry about the cost of the bill or our debt. Why? 'Cause it's based on fed funny money (ain't worth the paper it's printed on) and we owe the debt to the same fed that prints the funny money. We say goodbye to the fed, we say goodbye to the debt. Think about all the interrelated news stories - costs/inflation going down, the fed ignoring quantitative easing, Trump's reaction, and all the other "trolls" that he has made since inauguration. The fed is dead, the markets are unfair and corrupted, income tax is unconstitutional, therefore unlawful. Think about an earlier post you made concerning the wealth of the nation that is in the ground and growing on the ground, that is our wealth, along with our legal citizens, that's what backs our future success. A New Golden Age awaits. Only the wilfully blind cannot see this.
ReplyDeleteGrok: “Nicci Pisarri, also known as Nicole Pisarri, is a former model from Palm Harbor, Florida. She gained recognition for her work in magazine photoshoots, including appearances in Maxim and Strobe Magazine, often featured in swimwear and lingerie. Described as a brunette with brown eyes, standing 5'6" tall and weighing around 100 lbs, she was notably part of Maxim's Hometown Hotties. Currently, she is not accepting modeling work and is a stay-at-home mother of two daughters, also working as a Team Beachbody Coach. There is little verified information about her personal life beyond this, including her birthdate or current relationship status, which is speculated to be single based on available sources.”
