A rose is but a name...

The quote "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet" is a famous line 
from William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. It means that the name or label of something doesn't change what it truly is or how it is perceived. Juliet uses the quote to express that Romeo's name (and his family's affiliation) shouldn't matter to her, as she loves him regardless
