  2. Um, don't. The "personal identification information" (I could be wrong on the first I) is information banks and other financial institutions use to verify that you are you. Birth date, mother's maiden name, are some of the common PII used. Frankly, the year you were born is the generally the easiest part of your birthday to guess, so don't leak out your birth date.

    Facebook's having you link your parents generally let's the world at large know your mother's maiden name (and if you don't do it, one of your siblings will). Don't make it too easy for identity thieves to impersonate you.
