The end of an era for another classic? Cya, Malibu...

It started out as a sports car and ended up as a car for senior citizens. One of the most emblematic models of General Motors, the Chevrolet Malibu, is on the finish line. It has been 61 years of pure magic through the Malibu, the best-selling vehicle in the sedan sector in the United States, practically, each one of us has a story or an anecdote in one of these.
But, the world turns, grows and evolves, and we have to say goodbye to some models to say hello to the future, and that is why, after 25 years of decline of this vehicle (coinciding with the popularization of SUVs) they have come to an end.

The first-ever self-service grocery store, Piggly Wiggly, transformed food shopping when it opened in 1916 in Memphis, Tennessee. Before this, grocery shopping was a tedious task. Customers would hand a clerk a list, then wait while the clerk gathered the items—limiting the ability to browse or make impulse purchases. This system was slow, inefficient, and dependent on store employees.
That all changed when Clarence Saunders, the store’s founder, introduced the revolutionary idea of letting customers pick out their own goods. For the first time, shoppers could walk through open aisles, select items from price-marked shelves, and carry them in baskets before paying at a checkout counter. This shift not only sped up the process but also empowered consumers to make independent choices—something we take for granted today.

Alleged MS-13 gangbanger Kilmar Abrego Garcia was seen “sipping margaritas” with Sen. Chris Van Hollen Thursday amid his high-profile deportation battle, according to photos shared by El Salvador President Nayib Bukele.
Bukele shared three pics of the Democratic Maryland lawmaker meeting with Abrego Garcia — who was deported to El Salvador’s notorious megaprison last month — lounging in the country’s “tropical paradise” with what appeared to be salt-rimmed drinking glasses containing an unknown liquid and a cherry.

  1. As part of a coordinated propaganda program against the wonder cannabis/hemp plant, the media worked tirelessly to demonize this incredible plant. Just a year earlier, Popular Mechanics magazine speculated that cannabis might become the first billion dollar plant. But a conspiracy that included government, oil, paper, cotton, and pharmaceutical interests managed to demonize the plant as causing insanity (Reefer Madness), being the agent that led blacks to rape white women, and other things. A resulting tax of $10 a pound (insanely high at the time) essentially eliminated the plant from benefitting Americans and giving huge over to all the competitive cartels that conspired to eliminate it.

    1. Let's leave out the fact that it lowers i.q. in children, leads to Alzheimers in the elderly and causes car accidents. Why are studies done in other countries always left out of the discussion?

    2. The HEMP plant does NOT contain THC in any quantity worthy of intoxicating consumption. It was NOT banned because it did...strains of the plant that do contain THC were used to DEMONIZE a plant that had vast uses, including being a tremendously great source of protein (all essential amino acids and the perfect balance of Omega fatty acids in the seeds). The best rope, the strongest natural fibers, a source of oil as an alternative to petroleum, the best acid-free paper, and so, so much more. But then even your focus is on the intoxicating properties, not the overwhelmingly beneficial properties of the related plant. Yep, the propaganda is still working 100 years later.

  2. The higher up in any organization you are, the bigger the decisions you have to make with significantly less information. Corollary: The more layers of management, the worse run the company.

  3. With regards to whether "turn about is fair play" in not helping Biden supporters during natural disasters, I would probably have had a different answer 10 years ago. I would have argued that we needed to be the party that had right on their side versus devolving down to their level. But that answer would have been 10 years ago.

You cannot "win" the game by playing by the rules when no one else is playing by the rules. Sure, you might have moral superiority, but that won't keep you warm at night. People like General Milley and Col. Susan Meyers need to be tried for treason, but against the wall, and shot. People like Adam Schiff need to be full investigate, and thrown in prison. Comey and the other 51 intelligence "professionals" that falsified the Hunter Laptop document need to be charged with election interference and thrown in prison (and not Club Fed).

As I've told my son, you have to play the game by the rules as they are, not as you would wish them to be.

There was a fire at Lake Isabella, California that destroyed a large swath. Smaller fires were declared federal disasters so that they could collect federal dollars. Since that area had voted for Kevin McCarthy (R), Obama refused to declare it a disaster -- and screwed the people out of help they deserved. FEMA refusing to help Trump supporters was just a continuation of the left's war on anyone who doesn't tow their line. It's time for conservatives to use the same tactics against the leftists.

  4. There was a Piggly Wiggly near my grandmas where you could buy 20 lb watermelons and they would "core" them so you would know if they were sweet or not.

  5. Doesn't look like Garcia is in prison in that pic. And Hollen should be thrown in prison with him.

People like yourself would love that, as long as it doesn't affect you. Btw that wasn't FEMA policy, it was one individual and that individual was promptly fired.

  7. Panama City has become the latest destination of feral black young adults. Thirty years ago it was Atlanta and the crime ridden party was called Freaknick. They were finally rooted out of Atlanta and they moved it to Myrtle Beach where it lasted five or six years before they were rooted out there. They have jumped all over in places like South Beach, Ft Lauderdale, Coco Beach, and most recently Panama City. Most of these partying young adults are not college students but inter city thugs.
