This item popped up on a Google news page. 

It's not a website I follow, but it's spot on...  

It was just yesterday morning that I said something to the effect that there was something about this cartoon that jerked my failed-catholic chain. It appears as if I'm not the only one. I won't get in to the details of the article because it's irrelevant to my original point. 

These smarmy dickhead fuckwad libocrats at the New Yorker need a good smack in the back of the head, but maybe more so need a coupla lessons about what's funny and what isn't. As I've said numerous times, their efforts to be funny only come off as smart-ass, smarmy bullshit. Maybe it's their parents' fault. Enough on this. Let's bring a brighter outlook in to our day today.

An island-wide blackout hit Puerto Rico on Wednesday as the largely Catholic residents of the U.S. territory prepared to celebrate the Easter weekend. All 1.4 million clients on the island were without power, Hugo Sorrentini, spokesman for Luma Energy, which oversees the transmission and distribution of power, told The Associated Press. “The entire island is without generation,” he said.

I still have a number of friends living on island there and they tell me power outages are a common occurence - especially in the last five or so years. PR suffers a number of maladies, not the least of which is widespread corruption at every government level. It's run like a third-world country because that's exactly what it is...

Venice’s 'entrance fee' will resume this Friday, with the main novelty this year being that last-minute day-trippers will pay double. Last year, as part of an experiment aimed at dissuading day visitors during busy periods, Venice became the first major tourist city in the world to charge people to enter.

Most Democrats want their party to "become more progressive," and say they agree 

with the more aggressive stance being taken by lawmakers like Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who are calling on the party to take a "more aggressive stance" against President Donald Trump and his administration, according to new polls.

A poll from Survey USA, taken from April 2-6 of 859 Republicans and 885 Democrats, showed that 50% of Democrats want their party to become more progressive, with 24% wanting it to stay the same, and 18% calling for it to become more moderate. Among Republicans, 40% said their party should become more conservative while 44% said it should remain the same.
