That would be the sad reality of it. There are so many clowns, jokers, buffoons, idiots, jackasses and morons out there that are being quoted every day it's become impossible to differentiate between the gags and the sorta straight shit.

With regard to missing your backyard garden... I too had a really nice and productive veggie garden in PA. When we moved to Colorado in 2017, I did not realize how difficult it would be to duplicate it here. The soil is horrible (sandy, rocky and infertile), the sun beats down and kills plants (we are a 7,000+ feet elevation). The rain is almost nonexistent. The frequent hailstorms beat the plants to a pulp. The incessant wind knocks down everything not tied down. You need sunshades. You need hail covers. You need wind blockers. It is virtually impossible unless you have a sturdy greenhouse. I gave up and enrolled in a CSA (community supported agriculture) farm and they grow my veggies.

ReplyDeleteKid Rock is from Michigan, as I am. He wrote a song about going up north in the summertime. It brought such nostalgia for me. You see, I live "up north" and his lyrics describe exactly what it was like in the summers of my youth.
