Pre-produced and preposterous protests...

When people show up with professionally-produced protest signs in the Capitol Building, does it send a 'we're willing to work with you to make America great for all Americans' message or does it just prove that you're a jerkoff who's willing to make a jackass of yourself just to show the American people just how fuckin' hateful and ignorant you are? I lean towards the second option...

California lawmakers have introduced a bill to ban private firefighters, like those who saved many buildings in the Palisades and Eaton fires, from using public hydrants, saying firefighting is a “public good.”
Think about that for a minute. First and foremost is the fact that rich people can afford to hire private contractors to protect their properties because they fear the public services in their state are insufficient. Okay, then - with all of the arrogance and stupidity for which they are well known, the politicians they elect tell them they can't do that, because doing it is embarrassing maybe? What other reason would they have for this?

Oh, that's right - they're Demorats...

The data behind this chart said that the benfits include Social Security payments, but excuse fuckin' me - didn't I pay in to SSI my entire life? Isn't this my fuckin' money? Is the benefit simply that the government saved it for me all this time? Because if it is, I'm a jackass for doing it, because if I had just put that same amount in to the S&P 500 for all those years, I'd have six times the income I currently have. I guess THAT is the benefit. Fuck me...

It's no wonder kids today are as fucked up and confused as they are. We read Superman, Bugs Bunny, Beetle Bailey and Sgt. Rock comic books growing up. These must be what kids today are reading. Who creates shit like this?

  1. FWIW, Bugs Bunny donned a dress and lipstick many a time - not that there was anything wrong with that ! ;-)

  2. good old social security. yup. remember those "statements" they used to send to you ? I haven't seen one in years.
and I am sure there a good reason for that too. like not to piss off the person who's money they took.
had a neighbor that was some sort of party asshole that kept telling me "without the dems, there be no SS"
I got my damn paperwork and shown him I just like to get back what I paid into that shit !
for what I paid into it, I should be getting a lot more. but now we know they have been stealing from it for years !
or giving it away to assholes who never put a dime in it.
then I remember that when it was started, you couldn't get anything back until you hit 65. but at THAT time, most people where dead by 62 (?) looking at it like that and you realize that all it was meant to do was take away YOUR money !! hell, even at 5% return, you still be making a lot more than what they give you. the one they took the money from in the first place. BTW, when was you went to a SS office ? most of the people there never paid into it at all.
but they will get it and chances are they will get more per month than you do. like the illegals got from the Biden clowns.

  3. RE: the 48% of people receiving "some sort" of benefit which includes SS. I have a friend whose husband died when their boy was five or six. He received SS death benefits until he was ?18? However his mother, my friend, is a well-paid executive, so she just banked the money... which the boy used to buy a new car on his ?18th? birthday.

So even SS has some room for means-testing.

    1. The age cut-off is also based on the whether the dependent has graduated high school. My brother kicked-the-bucket when his son was in high school. My nephew ended up taking 6 years of high school and kept collecting social security until he was (IIRC) 19. If he had actually graduated high school earlier, the benefits would have been cut earlier.

  4. I imagine some bureaucrats in the water dept are behind the "no water for private firefighters" bs. They want total control over who gets what. Remember Californians were only allowed 50 gals a day during the drought, told not to bathe or flush the toilet.

    1. Probably either the city or the city firefights are behind it. The government hates competition.

For reference, consider how teacher's unions fight tooth-and-nail against charter schools.

  5. I ran across some of these covers some years ago. The backstory, as I recall, is that some comic book company had gone out of business and their assets were being auctioned off. Some guy made a spur-of-the-moment purchase and got the IP rights to an entire line of romance comics - I want to say "Love and Rockets," but I really don't remember - for some ridiculously small amount, and asked himself, "Now that I have this, what do I do with it?" He decided making parody comic covers was the appropriate thing to do.

  6. SS is a great way for the government to get low interest loans from less-than-rich workers. And if the government is really lucky the worker will pass away before the loan is completely paid back...and the government keeps the money, not the heirs of the worker.
