Are you one of the protest ants?

Never judge a book by it's cover, and never believe everything you hear from a poll - especially if you know going in it's gonna be lop-sided. “Companies and consumers are playing a high-stakes game of chicken – corporations betting on convenience winning out over conviction, while consumers wield their spending power like a weapon,” said Libby Rodney, chief strategy officer at the Harris Poll.
“The data suggests this is a miscalculation,” she said. “When 20% of Americans are permanently changing their consumption habits and nearly a third of boycotters say they’ll hold out indefinitely, convenience may no longer be the decisive factor companies think it is.”

When asked about the boycotts that have been making headlines over the last few weeks, 36% of Americans said they are or will be participating.Makes ya wonder who they're talking about.
I don't know a single person actively boycotting anything. Do you?

  1. Love the 20 percent will change permanently their buying habits but only a third of that 20% (6.67%) will hold out indefinitely. I thought permanently and indefinitely would be the same amount of time but as always a little double speak to make it sound worse. Also, it seems like the groups most likely to boycott those companies are also the ones least likely to buy anyway. So a lot of bark promoted by the media (who never "massage" the numbers to fit their narrative) will in actuality have very little bite. Budweiser found out what happens when you play with the people who really spend money....: Putz

  3. One quarter to one third of people in America are the enemy. We just accept that fact and act accordingly. If we refuse the left WILL WIN.

  4. This is just bias reporting. Focusing on the minority position and speculating that it matters to companies that wish to sell to a majority market share.

  6. I am a late Boomer, since I reached adulthood I have a list of things I boycott. It is usually brand specific. Pearl Milling is on that list as this deep south, white boy grew up on Aunt Jemima. There are others.

  8. The firms being "Boycotted" will benefit from having the shoplifting decreased by a modest 98%.

  9. I avoid anything with the NFL logo on it. I won't buy any beer owned by the Budwiser overlords. I won't buy any car built in Detroit or by unions (I can't afford $50K for a lemon). I don't buy syrup that used to be Aunt Jemima nor rice that used to be Uncle Ben's.

There are three produce stands on the way to town. I only buy from Jim and Jenny who have Trump bumper stickers. They also often have the stand on the honor system.

    1. I hope that you feel proud of yourself for "doing the right thing" while the other 300 million Americans who do not follow suit think your actions may be a bit "silly" at best.

    2. Anon feels right about his buying actions as do I. In addition to his never-buy products, I don't watch movies starring deniro, jim carey, or any of the harpies on the view.
I don't shop at Target or Dick's sporting goods.
They decide to be political fuckwits, I decide to not support them.
