The living wage shown is the hourly rate that an individual in a household must earn to support themselves and/or their family, working full-time, or 2080 hours per year. The tables below provide living wage estimates for individuals and households with one or two working adults and zero to three children. In households with two working adults, all hourly values reflect what one working adult requires to earn to meet their families’ basic needs, assuming the other adult also earns the same.

Every high school kid working after school needs to be able to support his (or her) wife and 3 kids. The minimum wage needs to be raised to make this happen!
ReplyDeleteRidiculous. Most jobs done by just a high school graduate aren't worth today's minimum wage. They need to learn a trade if they want to support a family. Using the law to force employers to pay someone more than they are worth is a quick way to get inflation and no entry-level jobs.
DeleteWhoosh!
DeleteRaising the minimum wage is a scam perpetuated by Government shills on the take.
Delete1. Raise the minimum wage = the lowest income workers take home some extra cash
2. The increased minimum wage costs employers more = costs and prices MUST increase
3. The increased cost burden is carried by all consumers = the lowest income workers are now at the same place they were before
4. The increased prices translate into higher tax revenue = the Government shows a net increase in income (for the first year or two)
5. The Government declares they balanced the budget!
The solution is tax breaks for those who need it most - but the Government can't exist with less revenue.
Divorce is like going down to a busy street corner and seeing how fast you can give away $50 bills. But if the marriage is miserable, it's worth every penny.
