“This drive and flight test represents an important proof of technology in a real-world city environment,” said Dukhovny, who said the trial proved to “humanity that new transportation is possible.”
The prototype in the clip was a special, ultralight version of the Alef Model Zero. For the commercial version, the firm will use a two-seater Alef Model A flying car that will have a flying range of 110 miles and a driving range of 200 miles — and is expected to have autopiloting flight capabilities as well.
Okay - you tell me how this is a good idea.

Shoeless Joe Jackson at his liquor store. . He ran “Joe Jackson’s Liquor Store” at 1262 Pendleton Street, West Greenville, South Carolina from 1933 until his death in 1951. The story goes there was a 1947 visit from Ty Cobb and sportswriter Grantland Rice. Cobb, passing through after The Masters, strolled in with Rice to buy a quart of bourbon. Joe, busy or cagey, didn’t flinch—didn’t even acknowledge the baseball titan at first. Finally, Cobb broke the ice: “Don’t you know me, Joe?” Joe’s reply cut deep: “Sure, I know you, Ty, but I wasn’t sure you wanted to know me. A lot of them don’t.”

When we were kids, my father would bring me and my two brothers to this place about an hour north of our house in Newark - I'm talkin' mid-50's/early 60's. This was the cheesiest 'amusement park' you could ever imagine. My only memory of 'the beach' (a phony sanded area on the lake) was that the water was very dark brown. Ya can't even imagine whatever musta been going on in there.. Yikes...

Cryptocurrency exchange Bybit on Friday revealed that a "sophisticated" attack led to the theft of over $1.46 billion worth of cryptocurrency from one of its Ethereum cold (offline) wallets, making it the largest ever single crypto heist in history.
"The incident occurred when our ETH multisig cold wallet executed a transfer to our warm wallet. Unfortunately, this transaction was manipulated through a sophisticated attack that masked the signing interface, displaying the correct address while altering the underlying smart contract logic," Bybit said in a post on X.
"As a result, the attacker was able to gain control of the affected ETH cold wallet and transfer its holdings to an unidentified address."
I can only say this about whatever the fuck they just said. This crypto shit is a concept way beyond my capacity to comprehend. It's a currency that doesn't exist except in computers. Okay. Whatever...

The flying car video isn't even a good fake. You can see the centerline on the road through the car. Unless the chassis is made from Upsidaisium*, there is no way that ting will get off the ground.
ReplyDelete(*Upsidaisium is a derivative of Unobtanium/Handwavium, copywrited by Jay Ward/Bill Scott Productions)
Never went to Bertrand Island ( although I do have very vague memories of going to Palisades Park ) .
ReplyDeleteNothing compares to Action Park, though - a true Jersey icon !
Every time someone comments on the ridiculous cost of housing these days, I ask where the 45 million illegal aliens live. Amazing how adding over 10 million people to the housing market can affect the cost.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to factor in government (Fed, state, and local) mandates regarding materials, sources, sub-contractors, permitting, type, age, and gender of laborers, permitted appliances, heating fuels, cooling, and utility routing. This is how "affordable" housing in Vermont came to cost over $300,000.00 per unit!
DeleteIf Adam Schitt doesn't hang this country will never be fixed.
ReplyDeleteI don't care what gas prices are around the world. They live differently than we do. Family's live together in the same house for hundreds of years without mortgages in some countries. They aren't over regulated with smog tests, and other high fees and mandatory insurance. It's apples and oranges.
