“We have no evidence at this time that the reported drone sightings pose a national security or a public safety threat, or have a foreign nexus,” Kirby said, echoing statements from the Pentagon and New Jersey’s governor, Phil Murphy.
Separately on Thursday, one US senator called for mysterious drones spotted flying over sensitive areas in New Jersey and other parts of the mid-Atlantic region to be “shot down, if necessary”, even as it remains unclear who owns them.
The drones appear to avoid detection by traditional methods such as helicopter and radio, according to a state lawmaker briefed on Wednesday by the Department of Homeland Security.
So, basically, if you listen to the big, important guys, those unidentified unkown things flying over your house being controlled by who-the-fuck-knows are nothing to worry about. Oh, okay. Wait - is that Japanese banter I'm picking up on my CB radio? Sounds like pilots. Hmmm...

we had at least three neighbors just on our one block that all left their Christmas lights up all year long. One of the guys - Anthony Imperiale, would light them up for Fourth of July, Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. As a side note, I couldn't have asked for a funnier, screwier place to grow up. On just that one city block of single-family, two-story homes, their were enough kids close enough in age to field two complete offensive- and defensive- touch football teams.

Alabama lawmakers are advancing legislation that would strictly define
who is considered female and male based on their reproductive systems. Opponents said the move could erode the rights of transgender and intersex people in the state.
“There are only two sexes, and every individual is either male or female,” declares the Senate bill approved in committee on Tuesday. It defines sex based on reproductive anatomy and says schools and local governments can establish single-sex spaces, such as bathrooms, based on those definitions. A House committee plans to take up similar legislation next Wednesday.
