And the reality we all face is even more dire. Now matter how it happens, we all end up the same - in a box or ashes blowing in the breeze. If I could narrow my scope of friends to a random 50 guys and gals I knew when I was 17, fully 40% of 'em (or more - who knows) aren't here anymore. Some are dearly missed and some barely at all, but the sad truth is, when ya gott go, ya gotta go. Remember Jim Morrison saying 'Nobody gets out of here alive'...

Yeah - once the campaign designers and managers finally get hip to the fact that so many people are taking advantage of early voting, I guess we'll be looking forward to seeing more ads that much earlier in the election cycle next time around. Now there's something to look forward to, huh?

Our 'local newspaper' here where I live. This is the front page of today's issue - not exactly hard-hitting journalism, is it? The reason I put that in quotes is that the Daily Sun is a sales brochure disguised as a newsrag. It's owned by the developers here and fully half or more of it's content is ads for houses built buy the developer. There's a reason people call living in The Villages 'Living inside the bubble'.

One of New York City’s elite private schools told families on Thursday that “students who feel too emotionally distressed” the day after Election Day will be excused from classes, and that psychologists will be available during the week to provide counseling.
In a section of an email to members of the school’s community headed “Election Day support,” Stacey Bobo, principal of the upper school at the institution, the Ethical Culture Fieldston School, said that it “acknowledges that this may be a high-stakes and emotional time for our community.”
“No matter the election outcome,” she wrote, the school “will create space to provide students with the support they may need.”
