Are you a 'binge drinker', or do you just drink every day? I feel for ya if ya do...

 
According to this very serious study, Individuals with alcohol use disorder appear to show deficits in empathy compared with healthy controls. That 'disorder' encompasses the conditions that some people refer to as alcohol abuse, alcohol dependence, alcohol addiction, and the colloquial term, alcoholism.  Deficits are particularly pronounced for older individuals and for cognitive (versus affective) empathy.
So, in essence, people like you who drink a lot really don't give a fuck about anyone else's problems. Makes perfect sense to me...

    I've always had tremendous empathy for those that are deserving. That hasn't diminished with my much heavier drinking since the PLANNEDEMIC. There are just WAY FEWER folks now deserving any empathy. Are these researchers sure that these folks had any empathy before? Are they sure these folks didn't start heavier drinking BECAUSE they lack empathy and know it? Or maybe everyone is just sick of all this S#!+, not giving a damn, a drinking heavily to deal with it all.

    Me: "Quite a lot, but only for medicinal purposes"
