ReplyDeleteI'm still working because I can, and I'm holding of on drawing Social Security until I max out at age 70. After that, my retirement date is TBD. Three Bad Days.
ReplyDeleteI work because for the most part I enjoy what I do. Then again, I've never worked for anyone by myself and I set my hours and work schedule and I'm very lenient with myself.
ReplyDeleteSurprised upper midwest is that low considering farmers and other ag industry people I know typically work into their 70s which should lift that average.
ReplyDeleteI went out at 62. Since I was one of those government parasites, I had enough comp time and vacation to stay on the payroll for 4 months after I left. There was enough sick leave to buy my health insurance until I turn 65. Not ashamed of it at all. I did 25 years working out on the roads., took very few sick days and banked O/T to maximum comp time. All part of the contract.
