Old video clips of Harris promising to get rid of Columbus Day resurfaced 

on the holiday Monday as social media users reacted her controversial proposal. Harris endorsed the idea of an effort by the federal government to change Columbus Day to 'Indigenous Peoples’ Day’ in response to a question from an activist in a New Hampshire town hall in 2019.
