They hope to get here before the start of a Trump administration because they know Kamala will let them in, greet them with open arms, feed and clothe them and give them damn near anything they want.
My biggest problem with this whole thing is why we tolerate and allow the Mexican government to basically close their eyes to this activity - why do they allow these groups of mostly foreign nationals to transit their country unhindered?
