Wireless in West Virgina. I'd almost be cool with that...

Green Bank, a small town in West Virginia, has become a nightmare for tech-savvy teenagers. With a population of only 143 people, the town has made wireless signals illegal. This means no cell phones, no WiFi, no Bluetooth, and no electronic transmitters of any kind. The restrictions are so strict that a store in the town had to remove their automatic doors due to the interference they caused.
Green Bank is located in the National Radio Quiet Zone, a 13,000 square mile area designated by the FCC to protect two government radio telescopes from man-made interference. However, the rules in Green Bank are even stricter than in other parts of the zone. There is even someone who roams the streets to detect any forbidden wireless signals.
The town is home to the Green Bank Telescope, the largest steerable radio telescope in the world. Scientists at the telescope use radio energy from light-years away to study the formation of stars and galaxies. A rogue radio signal could disrupt their research and impede potential discoveries that could provide answers to major questions about the universe.
