The 900 sq foot garage apartment that I rented in Rutherford NJ for $950 a month back in 1999 is going for $2800 right now. It was conveniently located 4 houses down the street from the bus stop and it came with one stall in the garage.

ReplyDeleteRents are high in NYC because of their rent controls. It discourages construction of new apartment buildings other than luxury units.
