The Villages prides itself on being a 'Golf car* community', and there are estimated now to be something like 70,000 of them here in the community. These aren't your every day golf carts - they call 'em 'Street Rods'.
Street rod golf carts are 1/5 a regular classic car, but the upcoming annual Street Rod Central Golf Cart Club fundraiser will be a full-size gathering. The club's cruise-in fundraiser is Monday and the club is in need of more street rod golf carts to sign up for the event. Only one hundred people have signed up so far. Must be nice to have too much money, huh?

As a rule - and you've heard me rail against the validity of them here many times - I don't give much credence to most polling, but I do make one exception - sorta. I've found, over the years, that RCP's polling is about as accurate as any poll can be when compared to eventual outcomes. I wonder what teir methodology is that's so much different from all of those other hackjobs...

"Down the Shore"...yup, even if you're a "shoebee", a Philly area day visitor. Pro-Tip (or used to be when such things weren't regulate to the hilt by the ninny's): Grab a bag of soft pretzels before heading over the Tacony-Palmyra bridge for the trip over to the Garden State Parkway and "The Circle Diner" (for those of us heading to Ocean City, NJ). Haven't been back in moons having moved "out West"...but Mack-n-Manco's on the OC Boardwalk (now Manco & Manco) was a must to grab a slice...and of course, a tub of Johnson's Popcorn.
