Cluelessnessand stupidity are alive and well - for the time being - in ChiTown...

The idea that software and hardware designed to detect gunshots is somehow 'racist' is stupid beyond belief, and yet...

Chicago will not renew its ShotSpotter contract and plans to stop using the gunshot detection system later this year. The system, which relies on an artificial intelligence algorithm and network of microphones to identify gunshots, has been criticized for inaccuracy, racial bias and law enforcement misuse. An Associated Press investigation of the technology detailed how police and prosecutors used ShotSpotter data as evidence in charging a Chicago grandfather with murder before a judge dismissed the case due to insufficient evidence.
Chicago’s contract with SoundThinking, a public safety technology company that says its ShotSpotter tool is used in roughly 150 cities, expires on Friday. The city plans to wind down use of ShotSpotter technology by late September, according to city officials. Since 2018, the city has spent $49m on ShotSpotter.
There are no easy answers to the Windy City's crime and gun problems, but this has been a useful toolin the past and they're dumping it because too many gunshot reports come from predominately-black and latino neighborhoods, so the software and hardware MUST be racist. Let that sink in.

Some California libtard fuckwad somewhere needs their ass kicked. I mean seriously kicked..

Fran Itkoff, 90, had been volunteering for the MS Society, a nonprofit support group for multiple sclerosis patients, for 60 years before she was removed.Although her dedication to the MS Society had been recognized over the years, the group recently forced her to step down after she asked what pronouns meant. 'I was confused. I didn't know what it was and what it meant,' Itkoff said of her first reaction when she was asked to use pronouns in her email signature. Itkoff's husband, a patient with MS, was running the Long Beach Lakewood MS support group before he passed away 20 years ago.

Welcome to the Sunshine State. Or should it be
renamed the Pollen State?

There are at least three and more likely five or six different pollen seasons around here. Between the Live Oaks and the Palm Trees - among others - I get my ass kicked for about half the year. I probably personally support the Kimberly-Clark stock price on my own.
For many people in Florida, seasonal transitions come with more than just a change in wardrobe or new décor; it also means dealing with seasonal allergies. Some of the symptoms of these allergies are quite severe and may leave you feeling brutally under the weather for most of the season. These include acute sneezing, heavy and red eyes/eyelids, congestion, and a runny nose, just to name a few.
When seasonal allergies occur, they may hinder you from enjoying your life. In some cases, you may be forced to stay indoors most of the time as exposure to dust, ragweed, pollen, or some of the other harmful allergens may cause severe inflammation.

If you live in Florida, you may have suffered from the very high pollen counts here due to the state’s year-round warm climate. The warmer temperatures mean that Florida has one of the most powerful and prolonged allergy seasons in the country.

But Uncle Joe thinks they're ripping you off with 'shrinkflation'...

  1. So the gun fire detection system only listens for certain skin colors of people that fire guns? There is no good that comes from being ruled by people this uneducated.

  2. They ARE ripping you off with shrinkflation. The price per ounce is up, and the number of ounces in a package is down. Standard response from companies: sell less for the same price or a higher price. Uncle Joe is provably non compos, but he's right about shrinkflation. What he's wrong about is the cause; for that, he'd need a mirror and a mind. The nitrogen packing has nothing to do with it, except insofar as joe average doesn't understand why the bags are puffy. Read the label: "sold by weight".

  3. I used to know a "painter" that worked on Fantasia. She relayed the story of her and the gals going out to dinner and they had cocktails (or some other alcoholic beverage). In any event, they decided to go back to the studio and put in some more work. She said she did the best work of her life that night. The next morning when she got into work, the male artist was fit to be tied. She and the other painters had not stayed within the lines and had ruined every frame they had touched.

  4. Don't be naive - of course they are ripping you (and everyone else) off with shrinkflation. Just check the consumer world website - the guy has been doing a good job reporting it for a very long time.
