Lovely lady. To answer your question, I always heard that "Wednesday" was anglicized from "Woden's Day" for the Germanic god Woden. But who knows?
ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time it was Wodin's (Odin) day
ReplyDeleteIt comes from Wodensday, just like Thorsday, but unlike Frigusday which is a little fucked up, just like the goddess of love.
ReplyDeleteBecause "Wednesday" is a corruption of "Woden's Day "
ReplyDeleteNamed after one of the principal gods in Norse mythology, Odin, also called Wodan, Woden, or Wotan ... "Woden's' day"
ReplyDeleteWednesday comes from Woden's Day. It's pronunciation has corrupted over time
