Is there ANY good news anymore? Certainly not when it comes to your favorite foods. Fuck...

I /we eat very little processed or prepared foods for a good reason. I'm lucky enough (that isn't the right phrase, but fuck it) to be allergic to any forms of flavor enhancers - especially MSG, so this really doesn't effect me nearly as much as it might you. There are a few items they list that we do eat on an irregular basis, but enough about me. It is kinda curious how our government - our own FDA - allows companies to put so much bullshit in the foods we buy and consume on an almost daily basis.
The watchdog Consumer Reports tested 85 everyday items for the presence of phthalates and bisphenols, two types of PFAS chemicals used to make plastic food packaging. The researchers tried to make their sample size as broad as possible - testing water, soda, cereal, bread, meat, fish, condiments, desserts and even baby food. All but one product tested positive for the substances, which have been dubbed 'forever chemicals' because they are virtually impossible to break down in the body where they cause untold health problems.

  2. Of course they've replaced nitrites and nitrates as preservatives, which may have caused some cancer. So now our food spoils faster and we can get cancer from the molds and bacterias instead.

Genetic replication is flawed, and mutations will occur. No matter what you eat. Sunshine will give you cancer. Do you want to live in the dark? Even then the background radiation from the earth will give you cancer. Do you really want to live an extra 5 years and eat tasteless slop, or enjoy the years you're given and eat what you want. My dad lived to 98, and believe me, he was not a happy camper the last few years. I have no intention of living beyond what I'm reasonably allotted.
