That movie brought the insanity of Viet Nam to main stream America. Fortunately, I went to Kansas and Iceland instead, '69-'73.
ReplyDeleteMy brother was drafted in the Army in 69. He was grabbed by the Rangers from his unit about 3 months in Vietnam and stayed 3 years in Vietnam and was wounded twice. The last time he was the only survivor of his unit. The Army sent him home after he got out of the hospital and it was quite a difference in him. He was on leave before going to permanent posting in FT Hood and more training in FT Benning. He spent 3 more years in the Army before leaving and becoming a truck driver in Texas.
