They're only now figuring out what I figured out years ago. I'm a friggin' genius...

 
 
In the wake of the damage Hurricane Idalia gave Florida, residents in the city of Ocala - and the surrounding area - we remain thankful our area remains a relative 'safe haven'. 
Ocala - horse country - is located at the state's center, 20 miles northwest of where I am, is considered one of the state's lowest risks for coastal flooding due to its location and being 100 feet above sea level. Even when there was worry that Hurricane Idalia would hit Ocala, the city - and neither did we - suffered no major damage and only minor power outages.
 
 
We're dead nuts in the middle of the state, so even though we suffer a bit more humidity in the summers because we're not close enought o the shore to catch sea breezes, it's a small price to pay for safety and security from storms.
Once again our Brit friends are covering shit no one here will bother to.
