Mid-festival they've changed their name...

Burning Man organizers late Saturday said they're deploying temporary cell phone towers and wifi across their muddy city as increasingly concerned attendees struggle to alter travel arrangements and connect with worried family members back home.
In a lengthy post to their website, event organizers reiterated that no one is allowed to drive out of the temporary city in the remote desert north of Reno. But they said people can walk the five miles across the muddy desert to the nearest paved road in Gerlach and take a free shuttle bus from there. And they reminded attendees and the public alike that coming to  Burning Man has always required preparation and fortitude.

Officials from BLM and the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office have closed ingress to the Burning Man event effective immediately and for the remainder of the event. Participants inbound for the event should turn around and head home.

There's a new disease out the in media land and there looks like there will never be a cure for it. It's called ClimateChangeatosis. Take the Panama Canal for example. For months now, the queue for passage through the canal, one of the most iconic shipping routes on the planet, has been getting worse, and of course they're blaming it on - what else? Of course it's Climate Change's fault.
In late August, roughly 135 ships were waiting to cross the 82-kilometre waterway that connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, 50 percent more than would normally be there.
The cause is a protracted drought that has driven water levels down and forced canal operators to reduce the number of ships that can pass through its locks. As a result, giant container ships and tankers carrying dry goods, perishable items, and energy are sitting idle in the sea.
Isn't it fascinating that nothing good is ever attributed to ClimateChangeatosis? Funny how that works out...

Ya know what? With all of the incredible bullshit (not to mention a couple million porn websites) that's on the internet, these numbers for the blog are actually pretty fuckin' impressive, even if I do say so myself. In fact, they're very fuckin' impressive. If you need me, I'll be over there patting myself on the back.

Why can't they just leave these nice people alone -
WTF is wrong with people?

New Jersey officials are in a stand-off with a local religious group that controls the resort town of Ocean Grove, which says thou shalt not go to the beach before noon on the Lord’s day.
Government officials say that is clear violation of the separation of church and state, and sent a warning to the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association, a Methodist group that operates the beach just south of Asbury Park, earlier this month: “The purpose of this warning is to advise you of the . . . potential violation and to provide you with an opportunity to voluntarily take corrective actions,” said the letter from Robert H. Clark of the state Bureau of Coastal and Land Use Compliance and Enforcement.
The Christian Methodist group has an unusual agreement with the Monmouth County township that allows it to restrict beach access on Sunday mornings during the summer. It has been this way for well over 100 years. Why are they fucking with them now?

  2. The Panama Canal backup is due to deep draft ships that require high tilde to make it to the locks. They are also the largest ships the locks can handle. There is low traffic at half tide to low tide. This is a logistics manufactured problem.

  3. Some of the stores around Paramus NJ, the retail center of the world, aren’t open on Sundays. The ancient blue laws are still in effect. Nobody sues them.
