Labor Day used to mean something important. Now it's just another day, sorta...

I used some serious AI to colorize these historical photos.
Everyone used to wear hats evidently...

If we learned one thing from all of their efforts,
it's that there is strength in unity...

Buy her something nice. She
deserves it just for putting up

If you like it grab it because there's only one left...

  1. The ideological problem with unions is the insanity of consorting with communists and the entire idiocy of "world labor unity." And the realpolitik problem of unions is the infiltration of the mob. Unions need to operate like corporations who's product is the services of the union members and whose shareholders are the members. The labor is just another input to making something, and the labor needs to leverage itself by collective bargaining.

I'm not anti-union. But I see where they became self-defeating.

  2. There's a good reason for the hats - antibiotics hadn't been invented yet. A cold that developed into pneumonia could kill you. It got to be customary.
Also, in the days before indoor plumbing became widespread, the night chamber pot would often be tossed out a window. Yuch!

  3. The rise of the proletariat....there once was a need for unions, like in the days when truck drivers put lit cigarettes between their fingers so that when they burned down to the skin it would wake them up after driving for 16 hours and keep them from falling asleep at the wheel.....but management would never abuse laborers like that today..../s
