Waking up to good news doesn't happen too often, but..,.

It looks like Adalia is tracking to the north of us.
Bad news for others, good news for us...

Idalia strengthened into a hurricane early Tuesday morning and is expected to approach Florida as a dangerous major hurricane. As of the Tuesday 5 a.m. update, Idalia was 85 miles north of the western tip of Cuba and had winds of 75 mph. It was moving north at 14 mph.
"On the forecast track, the center of Idalia is forecast to move over the eastern Gulf of Mexico today, reach the Gulf coast of Florida within the Hurricane Warning area on Wednesday, and move close to the Carolina coastline on Thursday," the NHC said. "Rapid intensification is likely through landfall, and Idalia is forecast to become an extremely dangerous major hurricane before landfall on Wednesday."
Portions of the west coast of Florida, the Florida Panhandle, southeast Georgia and the eastern Carolinas: 4 to 8 inches from Tuesday into Thursday. Isolated higher totals of 12 inches are possible, primarily near landfall in northern Florida.

According to the NHC, there is a danger of life-threatening storm surge along portions of the Gulf Coast, and the water may rise 8 to 12 feet above ground level in some areas.

Extinction Rebellion, the radical environmentalists who tried to blockade traffic to counterculture festival Burning Man on Sunday — only to be rammed aside by tribal police — are funded by some of the biggest names in Hollywood, along with an heir to the Getty fortune and outdoor retailer Patagonia.
The group calls itself part of a “decentralized, international and politically non-partisan movement” demanding climate action — and until now has largely stuck to causing disruption in Europe.
Under its banner, protesters have superglued themselves to the Speaker’s chair in the British parliament, blockaded busy roads — often by affixing to each other and the asphalt — and even attached themselves to the top of a plane. Allied groups in Europe have vandalized a Walmart heir’s superyacht.
So here's the question - how hard would you smack one of these jerkoffs given the opportunity? Or would you go full-tilt closed fist? Juss' sayin'...

The federal government is fining American Airlines $4.1 million for dozens of instances in which passengers were kept on board planes without a chance to exit during long ground delays.

Meanwhile, up in Jersey, it appears somebody's
got entirely too much free time.

Speaking of New Jersey, it's hard for me to believe that it didn't make the top five, but it most certainly is in the top 10. Gotta be.

  1. Wouldn't it be more effective to go after the sponsors rather than the protestors?
