How incredibly unnecessary was this?

That is one seriously pissed off guy. Can't blame him...

The world is completely upside down and logic and reason have flown out the window, never to be seen again. According to the New York Post, The Biden administration sued Elon Musk-owned rocket and satellite company SpaceX on Thursday for allegedly discriminating against asylum seekers and refugees in hiring.
“The lawsuit alleges that, from at least September 2018 to May 2022, SpaceX routinely discouraged asylees and refugees from applying and refused to hire or consider them, because of their citizenship status, in violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act,” the Justice Department said in a statement.
“In job postings and public statements over several years, SpaceX wrongly claimed that under federal regulations known as ‘export control laws,’ SpaceX could hire only US citizens and lawful permanent residents, sometimes referred to as ‘green card holders,’” the DOJ added.
The laws bar foreign persons from being given access to export-controlled items without approval from the State Department or Department of Commerce, but permits US persons including citizens, residents, refugees and asylum seekers, according to the lawsuit.
Immigrants “had virtually no chance of being fairly considered or hired for a job at SpaceX,” the lawsuit states, saying the company’s “hiring practices were routine, widespread, and longstanding, and harmed asylees and refugees.”

There are cities, metropolises, and then there's Tokyo.
I can't even imagine wanting to go there.

I give the Developers here who built and maintain The Villages a lot of credit. This is a man-made stream and waterfall that they created just because they can - it serves no other purpose. They spend shitloads of dough just making shit look nice. That's just part of why I like living here...

If ole' Earl was still around, his prices would probably be up in the $895.00 range. A friend of my Uncle Mondo had one of these places - like a franchise thing. The fuckin' guy made a fortune - not on the paint jobs, that was the throw-away part of the business. The real money was in Bondo body-filler and bullshit fender bender repairs. There was a lot of money in them dings and dents...

his whole 'suggested tipping' bullshit is getting way out of hand, and I'm a good tipper. Babs and me went to Chili's yesterday and our bill was $ 60.00. The service was fuckin' abizmull. I absofuckin'lutely HATE having to beg for another drink when I need one, and this bitch behind the bar did everything in her power to ignore the shit outta me. Anyway, we ate and wanted to split so I asked for my check. Four times.
I paid the bill with a credit card and handed the bartender a twenty. Trying to be cute, I said to her: 'Split this for me, will ya? She came back and handed me just a ten spot, assuming the other ten was for her. I'm not getting into specifics, but A: We probably won't ever go to a Chili's again and B: I ended up throwing a dollar on the bar and walking the fuck out. There would be a C: here, but my wife pulled me out of the place before I got arrested for assault on the little jerkoff manager.

  1. How did STK Midtown calculate those gratuity "suggestions"? I'm no mathematician, but by my calculations, those amounts are for a $125 total charge, not $70.75.

  2. Remember when someone from Congress said to confront people in public you disagreed with politically? To get in their face? Time to start doing that to DOJ attorneys.

  3. That tipping suggestion is wildly inflated. Must be common core math at play that 20% works out to $25. Plus never tip on the tax the restaurant collects, the server isn't filling out and filing tax forms for the restaurant.

  4. Why do you think the mugshot was unnecessary? It's standard procedure. And you follow standard procedures to ensure that nobody can claim later that they were treated any different than anyone else.

Or are you saying that rich people SHOULD get better treatment than poor people?

    1. None of this should be happening AT ALL, asshole.

  5. Seems they have a problem calculating percentages. Since when is 20% of $70 twenty-five dollars?

  6. The 'suggested tipping' percentages are way off for $70.75. A 20% tip would be $14.12 not $25.

  8. Tokyo is probably the nicest city on earth as far cities go, you won't find a cleaner, safer city. Japan as a whole is simply awesome.

Are you sure you weren't at the Boerne, TX restaurant?

  9. Just to add to your displeasure with Chili's, those suggested beggings are $10 over what the actual percentage rate come out to be.. Theft and modern math all at once.

  10. The bigger scam is that 20% of $70 is $14 not $25. How many just don't do the math?

  11. "asylum seekers and refugees" is a lot of syllables for "fucking illegals"...
So Elon is going to be dragged into court for trying to obey the law??

    1. They're not illegal. They have "protected person" status under US law and can legally work in the US. Or would you prefer them to live off of social security tax dollars?

  12. $29.95? I had two vehicles painted at the Schwab in the mid '60's for...$19.95

  15. I was just wondering: Of the newly hired 78,000 IRS agents, how many were refugees or asylum seekers?

  16. "Suggested Gratuities" Guess what , I will decide. The tip is determined by the servers competence and attitude .Get the order right , make sure the beverages do not go dry for too long , and be cheerful and you'll get a decent tip from me. Shoot you could even screw up the order some and if you are cool about it I will still leave a good tip .But cop an attitude all bets are off !

  17. The ticket with the suggested gratuities has the top part cropped out. You’ll see this on a receipt where a coupon or gift card partially covered the bill - the gratuity is based on the total, not the remaining amount. That being said, most of these places do base the calculations on the after tax total, not the subtotal like it should be. GrayRB

  18. Tip is commensurate with SERVICE-and that's for ME to decide, not some student loan payment dodger.
