An intoxicated Florida Man was sipping on a can of “Florida Man” beer when officers arrested him for “disorderly intoxication.” The appropriate label was enough to have the man counting bars in prison.
Seth Thomas was arrested by sheriff’s deputies on a street in Seminole, a city in Tampa Bay. The beers kept the 39-year-old from thinking straight. Thomas was caught screaming at traffic and strolling along the roadway while resisting the commands to stop.
According to the police, Thomas was drinking from a can of “Florida Man” when the arrest took place. The beer is made by Cigar City Brewing and it is marketed as being “brewed with a nearly criminal amount of hops and a moderate bitterness that just about matches Florida Man’s general disposition.”
Criminal is a fitting term considering that the act of drinking the beer fetched him criminal charges. Thomas was arrested for “disorderly intoxication, a misdemeanor, and booked into the Pinellas County jail. He was released from custody after posting a $100 bond.” Thomas might be the face of the brand in the near future.
